Bald Eagle Spotted in Cherry Grove

Trees along the Intracoastal Waterway and marshland make attractive perching and roosting spots for bald eagles and other raptors passing through our area. With plentiful food supplies in the brackish water, nesting materials all around, and minimal disturbance from humans, bald eagles sometimes settle in. Smaller than their northern counterparts at a little over 7 pounds, our bald eagles have an average wingspan of over 6 feet. What’s to do in winter? Come see eagles!
