South Carolina Surfing

Posted Mon, Sep 7th 2009, 10:39

Yes, there are waves along the South Carolina coast! Check online with www.surfline.com for up to the moment conditions. Typical surf is 4-6 feet, and year ‘round water temperature ranges from the high 40’s to the mid-80’s. Sometimes waves deliver on the action that you surfers crave; other times, not so much. On a note of caution, avoid sharks by staying away from schools of fish.

The department bought it in 1997 as an artifact, but no one knows who made it or why, nor how it relates to the state. If you have any sustainable ideas, contact South Carolina’s Department of Archives and History.
