Welcome!
Greetings in this New Year 2009. As we pay a quick look back to the final weeks of 2008, we are reminded of the gala event that some of our Towers' guests enjoyed at Prince Resort, dancing the old year out and the new year in as they dined on a delicious meal there at the ocean front setting. Other Towers' guests tell us that they had fun around town, such as at Alabama Theatre, and others described quiet dinners in their magnificent Towers' condos, watching the sun set across the water for the last time in 2008.
So, now with a restful holiday behind us, we move forward to see what 2009 brings.
After 2008, many people are hoping for something fun in 2009! At least, that is what seems to be happening, given all the calls that the Reservations' staff is taking from people booking everything from mid-winter golf outings to spring and summer vacations. Optimism is in the air. Golf, of course, provides a year 'round reason to come to the Grand Strand, and we have many great package deals to offer people who want everything from a pleasant day out on the fairways to serious, skill-challenging premier golf courses. The Grand Strand, especially our little corner of the North Myrtle Beach area, is a great place for relaxing, resting, and enjoying coastal living.
So, no matter what your reason for coming to the beach, we at Towers on the Grove look forward to seeing you soon!
The Staff of Towers on the Grove!
What Did YOU Do Between 2008 and 2009?
Some of our Towers' guests enjoyed the short hop from Towers on the Grove to Prince Resort's 3500 Ocean Grill just down the street. There, at ocean front, Chef Lou and his staff plus all the hard-working employees at Prince had organized a delightful evening of gourmet food, live entertainment, and a gala celebration to bid farewell to the old year 2008 and to welcome in the new year 2009. With balloons, party favors, elegant white table clothes, and plenty of party spirit, everyone embraced the festive mood and danced by the light of the stars shining on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
While some Towers' guests enjoyed the party conveniently located there, other guests spent their New Year's Eve in their own ways, whether attending some of the many area festivities along the Grand Strand or quietly strolling along the beach by the gently lapping water. Certainly, this year has been a time of reflection, and however we spent New Year's Eve, all of look forward to the many possibilities ahead for a great 2009!.
As 2009 gets underway, we at Towers hope that you will begin to plan your getaway in our direction where you can relax at affordable and yet luxurious accommodations by the sea.

Our relay event will be held on April 24th, 2009, at The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach where a designated team for each property will be involved. If you visit us during the third week of April, look for us there!

Recipe - Basil-Scented Fruit Terrine
Ingredients
- 6 leaves of gelatin
- 500ml water
- 200g caster sugar
- 1 ripe mango
- fresh fruit - raspberries, blueberries, blackberries
- basil leaves
Directions
- Line a loaf pan with cling-film leaving an ample amount to fall over the sides. Soften the gelatin in a little water.
- Bring the water to the boil and add the sugar. Stir until dissolved. Remove gelatin from the water and gently squeeze out any excess. Put in the sugar syrup and stir until dissolved.
- Make a layer in the pan and leave to set, placing it in the refrigerator each time with the in the pan in a little water. Allow it to set.
- Once set, begin the fruit layering process. At each layer, place the pan back in the refrigerator and allow to set, the same process as above. As you build the layers, chill to set between layers. Use whatever order you want; one example is to begin with raspberries, then add a layer of basil leaves followed by mango, blueberries, mango again and ending with blackberries.
- Finally, top with the gelatin mix and place the tin back in the refrigerator and allow to set.
- Allow the terrine to set fully in the refrigerator overnight.
- Serving -- Turning out is the easy bit. Cutting while retaining the shape and showing off the layers to full effect is more tricky.

Guest Comments
We love hearing from our guests. Here are just a few of the comments from guests who have stayed at Towers on the Grove:
My husband and I stayed at the Towers during the week of 11/11/08-11/15/08. Words cannot express how wonderful things were. Even the weather was beautiful 70 plus degrees. The oceanview was breathtaking even from the 18th floor. We walked the beach, we tour your facilities. Everything was so very well planned and put together. The condos seem to be equipped w/everything you could think of at home. The washer/dryers was a welcomed feature. We even got a chance to see one of the 3 bedroom condos. Ours was a two bedroom (upgrade!) The decorum was warm and inviting. It just made you feel at home. The tv's were crystal clear. The only thing was that the bedroom screens seemed to cut off portion of whatever you were looking at. (ex. I was looking at the nbc shopping network and they kept saying to call in, but I could not find a number. So I went into the livingroom and the screen there had the full screen view so I was able to get a number.)
My only regret was that the jacuzzi was not ready yet. One of the friendly staff accommodated us by inviting us to your sister condo The Avista. Our vacation at towers on the grove was everything and more than I could ask for. Thanks for making our stay a memorable one. I can't stop talking about it. P.S. Could you add a few more pictures to your brochures and if you do can you send us one it would be appreciated. Thanks!

We have stayed at the Avista Resort for many years but came across their sister resort, Towers on the Grove, through this site. What a beautiful resort and a gorgeous room. The state of the art appliances and furniture are beautiful and the decor is very upscale. The TV's are large flat screens with a very good picture. The two problems I do have are that there is not an indoor swimming pool as posted on the website and the fitness centre is very small - only two treadmills and one bike. The outdoor pool and whirlpool were not open and we were not told that when we booked. The front staff were excellent and let us look through the two and three bedroom units for stays in the future. We will definitely be staying here in the future.

This was my first stay at the Towers, surprized my girlfriend with a romantic getway, the housekeeping staff did rose petals all over the bed and the bathroom for us, she loved it and it made my stay very enjoyable. Beautiful rooms, very clean and spacious. This is the best hotel in North Myrtle Beach, we will come back and tell everyone we know! A special thank-you to the blonde on staff, sorry did not get a name very friendly. Liked everything!!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Towers the first weekend of November. We would definitely recommend it to other people. The one thing that was a little confusing was finding the "front desk." We would definitely come back again sometime. Thanks!!

Fun Facts
Listen to bluegrass music on an AM station while driving in a convertible along a dirt backroad. Crank the volume up and you get lost on some unknown tar-and-gravel Carolina off-road with mules and dogs wandering from driveways and buried tires as front-yard boundary markers.
Beach music, also known as Carolina beach music, is a regional variety developed from various musical styles of the forties, fifties and sixties. This type of music lives on, especially through the efforts of the Society of Shaggers (S.O.S.) who love to dance and listen to this music.
While some of the "beach hits" by beach music artists appeared on the R&B and rock and roll charts nationally, many remained obscure, at best. Because of this obscurity, beach music has much in common with the northern soul phenomenon in Britain today.
Beach music is often played through the Myrtle Beach beach music radio stations such as the FM station 94.9, called "the surf." Often families enjoy listening to it while they play at the beach, watching their children frolic in the surf.
Teach children to swim because ocean water conditions can change quickly. Knee-high water can rapidly become chin high or beyond. Children should wear adequate safety devices when anywhere near water.
A child wearing a lifejacket or "floatie" is not immune to drowning. Although these items offer some measure of comfort, they are no substitute for adult supervision.
A complete list of local area radio stations, from gospel to oldies to talk to beach music, is available at http://www.ontheradio.net/. Stations range geographically from Georgetown to North Myrtle Beach.
The next time you visit the beach, try beach dancing in the sand to the sounds of beach music playing on the radio. Whether you prefer swaying to the rhythms of the waves, foot-tapping, or real shagging to beach music numbers, we look forward to your visit at Towers on the Grove!
